Why we love CANCUN…
World-class all-inclusive resorts
Cancun has some of the top resorts and definitely has one perfect for your friends and family. Or, if it's an adult-only celebration, there are some great ones to choose from!
The beaches
With white sand beaches that feel like powder and beautiful turquoise water, you’ll never want to leave this destination.
The Mayan Riviera
While in Cancun you can easily tour other local destinations, such as Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and the beautiful Isla Mujeres.
Location
Cancun is located on the northeast coast of the Yucatán Peninsula and is just north of the Riviera Maya. There are more than 70 resorts in the Cancun hotel zone - plenty of options to choose from!
Climate
Cancun has little difference between seasons and is hot year-round with the average high in the mid-70s to mid-80s. This destination does have a rainy season in September and October and a dry season from November until April.
One thing you should know is that rain often comes and goes quickly. So don’t panic if you see that the forecast calls for rain because the storm will pass quickly.
HIGH SEASON
Cancun is a popular destination year-round. However, we do recommend avoiding September and October to prevent having bad weather during your stay.
High season: March, April, July, August, and Christmas/New Year’s
Shoulder season: January, February, May, June
Low season: September, October (rainy months)

Marriage Requirements
Many couples choose to get legally married in the U.S. at their local courthouse or church and have a symbolic or commitment ceremony for their destination wedding. Typically, guests do not know that the ceremony they are witnessing at destination weddings is symbolic (shhh!).
If you do choose to get legally married in Mexico, you will need to have the following:
- Valid passports
- Original and certified copy of your birth certificates
- Tourist card or visa, which you will receive upon arrival
- Names, ages, addresses, nationalities, and occupations of both sets of parents
- Blood test certificate (must be done in Mexico 48 hours before marriage)
- Four witnesses with copies of valid passports or driver’s licenses (must be 18 and cannot be biological parents)
- Death and divorce decrees are required if applicable
Check with one of our travel advisors for more information on having your destination wedding in Cancun.
