Angela & Bob
Wedding date: July 2019
Travel advisor: Andrea Norfolk
Destination: Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Resort: Moon Palace Jamaica
How did you meet?
Bob and I meet on a dating website. We were older and not into the party scene so we both gave online dating a try. We were both going to give online dating a break for a while because at the time it seems like a PT job but thank god we didn’t…we found each other!
Why did you choose to have a destination wedding?
It was both our 2nd time getting married and we really didn’t want anything big. We just wanted out closest family and friends with us to have a big party and to enjoy an island while doing it.
Why did you choose your resort and destination?
We went with Andrea’s suggestion. Never been to Moon Palace, Jamaica but trusted Andrea’s recommendation. :-)
Did you add any personal touches to your wedding ceremony?
Yes, we had a DJ, some table linens, cake, had my own centerpieces for each table and cake topper.
What was your most memorable moment during your ceremony?
The location. Walking down the path towards the North Gazebo. Getting to the gazebo and seeing Bob’s face as I approached the back of the aisle ready to walk towards him.
Did you do any activities with your guests?
If so, which was your favorite? I think my favorite was Dunn’s River Falls. We had about 50 in our group. We split into 2 groups but were right next to each other. We had so much fun climbing the falls and taking pictures. It was just a lot of fun…the tour guides were all great and make it an experience to remember. They really do work hard so the customers can have a great experience.
What was the best part about having a destination wedding?
Just showing up at the resort and having a coordinator take care of everything. I literally just had to show up. The coordinator took care of all the details and kept in touch with me the entire time leading up to the wedding. She made sure everything that I requested was taken care of.
What advice would you give to couples considering a destination wedding?
Definitely give it a shot. It’s so fun and relaxing and beautiful of course. You get to spend time with your family and friends the entire time leading up to the wedding and even the days after the wedding. It’s very romantic and less things to worry about. I think destination weddings are less stressful since you have a coordinator to take care of everything. People will always remember the trip and what a beautiful venue it is!
