How did you meet?
We met at a local Mexican restaurant/bar called Del Fuego through mutual friends.
Why did you choose to have a destination wedding?
We knew right away we wanted to get married somewhere other than our home, Long Island, NY - we just didn't know where! We love to travel together and after not being able to for the past year or so, we're itching to get back to it! We knew we wanted the wedding to be outdoors, casual and fun, and to celebrate with just our closest family & friends. We're so excited to get a whole experience with our favorite people to celebrate rather than just a few hours!
Why did you choose your resort and destination?
Having met at a Mexican restaurant and getting engaged on the beach, an all-inclusive resort in Mexico is right up our alley! Once Breathless Riviera Cancun was presented as an option and we did a little research, we didn't need to look any further! We want a week-long party that has day and night entertainment, good food, beautiful pools, luxurious rooms and is easy for our guests to travel to. Breathless checks all those boxes, and the stunning ocean view rooftop ceremony/reception venue just sealed the deal for us!
What was your most memorable moment during your ceremony?
The most memorable part of our ceremony was actually right before the ceremony! After an entire day of beautiful sunshine, a storm rolled in right as we were supposed to start our rooftop ceremony. We decided to try to wait it out and mingled with our guests at the covered bar/restaurant right underneath where our ceremony was supposed to be held.
When the storm didn’t pass quickly, we decided to improvise and do the ceremony in that area instead and it ended up being amazing! That 45 minutes or so that we just got to laugh, go with the flow, and spend time with our guests ended up being our favorite time of the trip. We didn’t let the rain and the change of plans ruin our day, and it actually turned out to be such a special experience to get to spend time with each other and our guests before saying “I do”! The rain stopped soon after and we got to have our reception on the rooftop and partied all night long!
What was the best part about having a destination wedding?
The best part about having a destination wedding was getting to spend 4 days with all of our favorite people rather than just one night! We had just about 70 people attend and we got to spend real quality time with and enjoy every single person who came, and we felt so much joy knowing that our loved ones made this trip for us and were so genuinely happy to celebrate us.

Working with Shoreline Destinations was AMAZING. We can’t say enough good things about how organized, helpful, thorough and kind Andrea and the whole team are. We trusted Andrea immediately with her recommendations and she and Meredith were always so responsive to all of our needs.
