How did you meet?
We met on a dating app and we clicked instantly. After 3 dates, we knew we wanted to be together forever!
Why did you choose to have a destination wedding?
When we initially got engaged, we saw the high costs of having a wedding in our city and the amount of people that would want to come to our wedding. We had to sit down and really evaluate what we wanted our special day to look like and how much we were willing to spend to make that happen.
We both realized that we wanted to have an intimate experience with those closest to us in a beautiful location, and we decided the best way to do that was to go through a travel agency to arrange a Destination Wedding for us.
Why did you choose Hyatt Ziva & Zilara Rose Hall and your destination?
We chose Hyatt Ziva & Zilara Rose Hall because their wedding spaces and the resort itself were absolutely stunning. When Shoreline sent us their top 5 choices based on our initial meeting, we absolutely fell in love with the resort and everything it had to offer. We also love Jamaica, so from there everything started to line up. We really could picture ourselves as well as our family not just enjoying our wedding weekend, but also enjoying themselves with good food, various excursions, and other amenities.
What was your most memorable moment during your ceremony?
The most memorable moment for us both had to be seeing each other for the first time. So many planning meetings and conversations went into that day, and it was amazing to see it all come to fruition. We also enjoyed just seeing all of our closest family and friends in one space there to support us.
What was the best part about having a destination wedding?
The best part of having a destination wedding for us was all of the bonding memories we were able to make with our close friends and family. Whether it was ATV bike rides in the Jamaican jungle or having an impromptu pool party the day after the wedding, those memories shaped the love and joy that filled our wedding weekend. The intimacy of the wedding was also special. Everyone who was there was either a family member or an extremely close friend, so the love that surrounded us was felt a lot more. For a lot of our family members, it was their first time traveling out of the country so it was amazing to see them explore the country and have a good time. I don't think we would have any of those feelings or memories without choosing to do a destination wedding.
What was your experience using Shoreline Destinations?
We found Shoreline through a 15 second TikTok and it was the best decision we made to use them. Working with Shoreline was a dream. They took so much of the burden of the business and planning aspects of the wedding off of our backs. Whether it was dealing with room blocks and getting our guests to pay, or dealing with the resort to make sure they gave us everything we needed to have a smooth weekend they were on top of it.
We have to send the BIGGEST shout out to our angel, Meredith. She was a consummate professional when it came to working with the hotel for the room block and even troubleshooting problems that she didn't have to. She is the BEST! We also have to shout out Andrea Norfolk for all of her advice and expertise. She never steered us wrong. We don't plan on getting married again, but if we had to do it all over again, we would absolutely choose Shoreline Destinations to help us 100 times over, we could not have pulled this off without them.
