How did you meet?
I saw his profile on Bumble (thought he was cute) and saw that we had mutual friends (Bumble shows your social media connections). Turns out that one of my close friends Emily was best friends with Clay's best friend's wife Kristina (LOL! tongue twister/confusing). So I was able to start the initial convo OFF of Bumble and the old school way through the telephone. He was living 90 miles away in Cincinnati at the time and we dated long distance for about a year before moving to the same city... and the rest is history!
Why did you choose to have a destination wedding?
Both being from the same state (Kentucky), we knew if we got married there that the guest list would get out of control! We both love the beach so we opted for a destination wedding in February when it is middle of winter for majority of our guests. We figured most would be itching to get out of the cold at that time and come to the wedding!
Why did you choose your resort and destination?
Thorough research! And once I stumbled upon Andrea and Shoreline Destinations, her expertise and knowledge about Hyatt Ziva/Zilara Cap Cana made it an easy choice! Our average age range was 42-55 years old, so being at an upscale resort was something we knew was important to try and make the majority of our group happy. Good food on property, exceptional service, and beautiful scenery were important!
What was your most memorable moment during your ceremony?
Our first dance! My best friend/maid of honor and her husband performed an acoustic version of "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper. It was extremely special for us.
What was the best part about having a destination wedding?
I loved that all of our guests, because we stayed at an all-inclusive, were basically "locked" together for 3-4 days. All of our guests made new friends and it was a once in a lifetime experience to have all of those different groups of friends mingle together for an extended time period.
What was your experience using Shoreline Destinations?
My experience with Shoreline Destinations was nothing short of perfect. Sharon, Andrea, and Ellen worked tirelessly with our large group of 100 guests to ensure no stone was left unturned when it came to room reservations, transportation logistics, and general questions when traveling abroad. There was never a time over our 10 months of working together where I didn't feel like I was in *great* hands. These ladies are PROS!
