Gina & Kade

DESTINATION WEDDING IN PUNTA CANA

Gina and Kade recently exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony at Dreams Flora Resort & Spa in Punta Cana. It was an absolute delight to help make their dream destination wedding a reality!

Wedding date: December 2024

Travel advisor: Andrea Norfolk

Destination: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Resort: Dreams Flora Resort & Spa

How did you meet? We met in 2016 at a party in college but didn't catch each others names. I was hopeful since it was early in the school year that we would cross paths again and a few weeks later we did! We stayed up talking non-stop until almost 5 am that night even though we both had class at 8am. We've talked everyday since.😊

Why did you choose to have a destination wedding? We both knew that we would want to plan something that's fun and intimate with our closest family and friends. We like the idea that we will get to have more than one day to enjoy with our closest loved ones. It's the perfect excuse to get both sides of our family/friends together and away to a tropical paradise (and to escape ND/SD winter for a bit).

Why did you choose Dreams Flora Resort & Spa for your destination wedding? Punta Cana stood out to me the most for a location because that was where I had seen my first destination wedding while Kade and I were early into our relationship and instantly knew I wanted that. We also got engaged in Punta Cana so it felt right to go back for our big day.😊 We chose Dreams Flora because it's beautiful and checked all of the boxes we were looking for. There was also the added bonus of a little less pricier rooms since it opened so recently.

What was your most memorable moment during your ceremony?
The most memorable part of the ceremony was probably seeing Kade cry when I walked down the aisle. Kade, my dad, and I were all crying and it was just such a sweet moment filled with so much joy. Seeing everything come together, seeing so many of our loved ones there, and finally just being in the moment that I had envisioned for so long was the best feeling. Happy tears all around🥰

What was the best part about having a destination wedding?
The best part of having a destination wedding was getting to have multiple days to spend with our guests. We got to spend days at the swim-up bars, in the cabanas on the beach, took a catamaran tour, and saw both sides of our family/friends come together for the first time. It was so fun to walk around the resort and see people we knew all over in such a beautiful place😆 definitely was a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
